We welcome all delegates, FACTA members, accompanying people and sponsors to FACTA 2017 here at the Sofitel in marvellous Melbourne.
The meeting will commence on Sunday 19th November with our opening welcome cocktail reception which will be held here at the Sofitel between 5-7pm. You are then welcome to enjoy the dining scene in Melbourne with any number of great places for dinner.
On Monday, we commence the scientific sessions with oral and poster presentations in the Sofitel in the Arthur Streeton Auditorium. The abstracts for these presentations can be found further on in this book. Our conference partners ICMSA have done an excellent job of assisting the local hosts to organise all aspects of this meeting.
Tuesday and Wednesday are also full days, however will we be having our AGM on Wednesday at 2.30 pm so people can catch flights out of Melbourne at a reasonable time. Each day will commence with a keynote session from Dr Simon Elliott (UK). Simon is a world-renowned forensic toxicologist who will share currents developments with new psychoactive drugs, interpretation of clinical and forensic toxicology as well as other key issues in toxicology. We will also close our meeting with a keynote presentation from Professor Olaf Drummer (known to all of you) who will give us a talk on the difficulties of interpretation with hair drug testing.
There are 3 full days of presentations with many topics covered - we give great thanks to all our sponsors for making such a meeting possible. On Tuesday night we will have a dinner on the Yarra at Sumac (Shed 14 ‐ Central Pier 161 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands) see our program book for details. It is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. We look forward to meeting you throughout the meeting and hope that all of you have a memorable stay in our beautiful city and enjoy FACTA2017.
